I interviewed Mr Medvedchuk. It was in Monte Carlo. He gave us
a very interesting interview. He gave us his view
of the Ukraine. I gather that you’re close with him.
President
of Russia Vladimir Putin:
I would not say that we are very close but we know each other well. He was
President Kuchma’s Chief of Staff, and it was in this capacity
at the time that he asked me to take part
in the christening of his daughter. According to Russian
Orthodox tradition, you can't refuse such a request.
Oliver
Stone: Oh, you cannot
refuse it?
I thought it was a big
honour for you to be the godfather of his daughter.
Vladimir
Putin: It is always
a great honour to be a godfather.
Oliver
Stone: Well, how many
children are you godfather to?

Foi, finalmente, permitida a exibição no Ocidente, do documentário influente e importante de Oliver Stone, Ucrânia em Chamas.
A Ucrânia, a “fronteira” entre a Rússia e a Europa “civilizada” está em chamas. Durante séculos, esteve no centro de um jogo do ‘puxa a corda’, causado pela guerra entre os poderes que procuraram controlar o seu território fértil e o acesso da Rússia ao Mediterrâneo.
O Massacre de Maidan, no início de 2014, desencadeou uma revolta sangrenta que expulsou o Presidente Viktor Yanukovych e encorajou os habitantes da Crimeia a separarem-se e a juntarem-se à Rússia e provocou uma guerra civil no leste da Ucrânia.
A Rússia foi ostentada pela comunicação mediática ocidental como sendo a criminosa e foi sancionada e amplamente condenada como tal. Mas será que a Rússia foi responsável pelo que aconteceu?

The people in Western Ukraine had to be completely stupid to be so easily deceived and turned against their own democratically elected government. But the overthrown government was also stupid for believing in negotiations, for trusting the US, and for not arming the police who were being killed by snipers. The Russian government was too focused on the Sochi Olympics to realize what was happening and that the coup was directed at Russia. Russian trust of Washington also resulted in the murder of Gaddafi and the destruction of Libya. Trusting America, Russia withheld its veto over the no-fly zone imposed on Libya, because Russia trusted the assurances given by Washington that regime change was not the purpose.
Here is Oliver Stone’s documentary on Washington’s coup in Ukraine. The truth differs greatly from the lies told by the Western presstitutes and the US government.

Oliver Stone's seminal documentary Ukraine on Fire has finally been made available to watch in the West.
Ukraine, the 'borderlands' between Russia and 'civilized' Europe is on fire. For centuries, it has been at the center of a tug-of-war between powers seeking to control its rich lands and Russia's access to the Mediterranean.
The Maidan Massacre in
early 2014 triggered a bloody uprising that ousted president Viktor Yanukovych,
spurred Crimeans to secede and join Russia, and sparked a civil war in Eastern
Ukraine.
Russia was portrayed
by Western media as the perpetrator, and has been sanctioned and widely
condemned as such. But was Russia responsible for what happened?
Ukraine on
Fire provides a historical perspective for the deep divisions in the
region which led to the 2004 Orange Revolution, the 2014 uprisings, and the
violent overthrow of democratically-elected Yanukovych.
Covered by Western
media as a 'popular revolution', it
was in fact a coup d'état scripted and staged by ultra-nationalist
groups and the US State Department.
Investigative
journalist Robert Parry reveals how US-funded
political NGOs and media companies have emerged since the 1980s,
replacing the CIA in promoting America's geopolitical agenda abroad.
Executive producer
Oliver Stone gained unprecedented access to the inside story through his
on-camera interviews with former President Viktor Yanukovych and Minister of
Internal Affairs Vitaliy Zakharchenko, who explain how the US Ambassador and
factions in Washington actively plotted for regime change.
And, in his first
meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Stone solicits Putin's take on
the significance of Crimea, NATO and the
US's history of interference in elections and regime change in the
region.

A series of extraordinary interviews
Congress passed its beloved Russia sanctions last week by a vote of 419-3! The Senate followed with a vote of 98-2!! I guess ‘American Exceptionalism' includes the vast stupidity inherent in having two giant oceans to distance us from the rest of humanity.
With all the Apples and Microsofts and computer geniuses we have in our country, can we not even accept the possibility that perhaps our intelligence agencies are not doing their job, and maybe, just maybe, are deliberately misleading us to continue their false-flag war against Russia? Or for that matter, that Russia itself may not be that invested in screwing up our vaunted democracy with such sloppy malware as claimed?
Especially in view of the strong statement put out by Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity, a group of reform-minded veterans throwing a dose of acid on the infamous ‘Brennan-Clapper Report’ of January 6, 2017. With this report alone (see below), much less the overt lying and leaking that’s been going on, both James Clapper (‘We don’t do surveillance on our own citizens’) and John Brennan (‘Drones and torture? None of our business') should be investigated as thoroughly as Michael Flynn, Jared Kushner, Trump’s son, etc.
What’s happened to Elizabeth Warren, Barbara Lee, or any of the people who’ve displayed some independent thinking in the past? Have they actually read this report? Somebody out there in DC, please explain to me this omission of common sense. Are the Washington Post and the New York Times so powerful that no one bothers to read or think beyond them? It seems the TV stations in this country take their copy from them.
I accept the US decline. That’s a given -- after all, compare our broken-down New York subway system with Moscow’s, as well as many other cities’ pristine and impeccable services. These sanctions, which I pray Europe can independently judge and discard, are as dumb as giving out medals to Generals who keep losing wars. I still have this image burned in my brain of Petraeus with his 11/12(?) rows of ribbons, many looking like Boy Scout badges, surrounded by adoring Congressmen as he lied his way through his foreign policy testimony.
Never mind that any moment now a Dr. Strangelove-type incident can occur -- with less reaction time, say 15 minutes, compared to the 1960s 2/3 hours. We are truly at the edge as Mr. P pointed out in the documentary I made. Such Roman arrogance, such blindness, calls out for another Vietnam, another Iraq. We’re screaming for some Karmic Boot up the ass. Destroying our pride would be a favor that the gods could do us.
I can go on -- but I’m angry as you can tell. So what’s the point of going to the windows and screaming, even if I were on television? Read the report below from Sanity Inc. and pray another August (1914) passes without the war Congress, Media, and the Military-Industrial Complex are literally dying for. I now fully realize how World War I started. People in power never really thought it would happen, and when it did, thought it’d be over in weeks. You should know the rest of that history.

Editor’s Note: This VIPS Memo included two mistaken dates. Neither affected the Memo’s main conclusion; i.e., that the July 5, 2016 intrusion into DNC emails that was blamed on Russia could not have been a hack – by Russia or anyone else. The portions of the Memo affected by the mistaken dates have been corrected.
